In-Service Training

The 30-hour Advocacy Academy requirement encompasses all training requirements for the first year of CASA service. After the initial training, twelve hours of continuing education is required annually through in-service training. There are a variety of ways to complete this training requirement including the following:

  • Online Training Modules focused on specific issues
  • Video/DVD programs
  • Books available through the public library or State CASAs on-line library system
  • Local quarterly trainings covering a variety of issues and topics
  • Monthly case support meetings
  • Committee participation
  • Opportunities provided through agencies partnering with CASA
