In-Service Training
The 30-hour Advocacy Academy requirement encompasses all training requirements for the first year of CASA service. After the initial training, twelve hours of continuing education is required annually through in-service training. There are a variety of ways to complete this training requirement including the following:
- Online Training Modules focused on specific issues
- Video/DVD programs
- Books available through the public library or State CASAs on-line library system
- Local quarterly trainings covering a variety of issues and topics
- Monthly case support meetings
- Committee participation
- Opportunities provided through agencies partnering with CASA
